Inkreate final meeting in València

Coordinator Instituto de Biomecánica hosted on June 21st the final meeting of InKreate European project.

Partners from all over Europe visited Valencia for the closure of this H2020 project led by IBV.

The main objective of InKreate has been to improve the process of apparel design with the incorporation of new digital tools that eliminate manual tasks and leverage the use of recent IC technologies. InKreate has also carried out demonstrations in operational environments in different pilot cases with the cooperation of the creative SMEs from the apparel market participating in the project.

Juan Carlos González, IBV’s Head of Innovation for Footwear and Clothing, points out that “IBV expertise on 3D scanning technologies and 3D avatar creation has made possible the completion of a successful project”. According to project Director Juan V. Durá “project objectives have been fully achieved”.

The new digital tools have been developed by the Israeli company BROWZWEAR with the collaboration of the rest of the partners who have contributed to define requirements, supported along the process and finally implemented the tools in their day-by-day activity in order to test functionalities and performance.

Giuseppe Caprara, IBV Innovation Manager, affirms: “The project has a high innovative content that could be helpful for many companies and designers. InKreate tools will be a new reference in re-think the design process under a 3D point of view.”

Zorana Kozomara, CEO at Body2Garment, remarks the “high commercial potential of the 3D sketching tools” that should reach the market very soon according to Inkreate exploitation plan.

The partners of this innovation action, besides IBV as coordinator, are ATP and P&R TEXTEIS (Portugal), BODY2GARMENT (The Netherlands), BROWZWEAR (Israel), DDUE (Spain), FIT and KATTY FASHION (Rumania), and TITERA (Slovenia).
